Grazeley New Town

Having identified the opportunity for a new settlement in Berkshire; and introduced a developer / promoter, early discussions were held with the Council. An inter-disciplinary team was appointed to generate new ideas and approaches for a highly sustainable new settlement. The Councils, as adjacent landowners, requested the new settlement be expanded to include their land. Through a series of topic based workshops, free flowing discussions and blended skills, the highly collaborative approach resulted in a 15,000 home new town, incorporating the largest park outside of London, being proposed for allocation in the development plan.

Due to changes in regulations for the operation of nearby military establishments, the scheme had to be abandoned. However, the innovation, ideas and collaborative approach informed other proposals which have been taken forward.
