Knowle Village
Following the disposal of a former Victorian Hospital (historically a mental asylum), outline permission was granted for a new community, involving the restoration of the listed buildings and their setting, alongside new development, providing c400 homes, a local centre, parkland, memorial gardens and community facilities.
Seeking to deliver the new community on a phase by phase basis, alongside detailed proposals addressing the heritage and landscape constraints, extensive engagement with the existing, new community and local planning authority allowed each new phase to be delivered, new approaches to be pursued and the detailed mechanisms for the delivery and future maintenance of community infrastructure to be implemented.
Alongside regular on site meetings with Officers on the detailed aspects of the proposals, planning committees and community discussions were held on site, allowing for free-flowing discussion, good communication and an open dialogue throughout, enabling the smooth delivery of the scheme to completion.
